Haven’t seen this comment yet, so I’ll say it: the blocked shot from Alvarez stems from Gabriel underhitting the backpass to Raya, not from anything that Raya did. He could’ve played it away first time, but that’s what Arteta specifically said post-match he did not want to happen.

There are other teams in the tournament. 4th or 5th best England player means he wasn’t one of the best players in the tournament.

Realistically our front three should be Saka Jesus Martinelli from right to left and then Eddie is okay as a backup. With injuries and the amount of games/estandards we need another forward option that can be a clinical finisher or target man at least. Eddie reminds me so much of a young Welbeck, meets the eye test in a lot of ways, works really hard, just doesn’t have the skill for the very top.
