I’m pretty sure it comes from a time when only the US took baseball seriously, so you technically make the argument that the team that won was the best in the whole world. But nowadays it just sounds silly.

It’s a goofy name, honestly. I’m pretty sure it comes from a time when only the US took baseball seriously, so you technically make the argument that the team that won was the best in the whole world. But nowadays it just sounds silly.
