I usually see the “love is useless, I am a supreme logical being” mindset on LIs. I’m interested in Subject: Love because it seems to be the mindset of the MC. And oh boy is it going to be fun reading from her perspective.
Emberfate simulates being an MMORPG guild leader to some extent, not quite sure how far it goes into that. Always thought MMORPGs might be fun but I’ve personally kept away from them because I have no interest in some 13-year-old spamming slurs at me because I made one mistake in a raid, and I know that I’d probably get horribly addicted. So the MMORPG aspect attracts me here because it seems like I’ll get all the fun parts of an MMO without having to deal with the nasty parts that keep me away from them in real life. There are also LIs—it is tagged otome, after all.
Added a lot more than just these two, but they’re the ones that seem like they might appeal to me the most.
Oh that does seem like an interesting twist for Subject: Love!
Emberfate looks like a really interesting concept; I love the idea of an otome+management sim blend, and in a setting I find so familiar too as someone who’s been playing MMOs for almost 20 years now. The LI count is a bit low for the super broad audience they seem to be targeting, so I will leave it off the backlog, but I see they’re adding a fourth and will keep a distant watch on it in case they continue adding more (or do a future game with more).
Anything promising among those new additions to the backlog? I’m also more motivated to play otome from this community.
