Coming from the Reddit official app, one of my ingrained gestures is swiping to exit a post and return back to the main page. Getting up to the top corner of my screen to press the “Back” button is a little annoying, so I’d like the option to disable the “swipe to vote” functionality and get “swipe to exit” instead.
Huge thanks to everyone who’s contributing to wefwef, I’m loving it a lot so far!
Swiping to go back actually works, but you have to start your swipe from the very edge of the screen
I know I would just like if it was a bit more lenient, I have an older phone and an otter box on it so getting it to register the exact edge is quite difficult for me sometimes.
Totally fair, I would also love it if they increased the detection margin a bit, even without a case!
It does, and it’s incredible how much of the native experience Wefwef gets right!
But I’d say this interaction could be even better is if there was a small threshold near the left edge of the screen where only the “slide to go back” gesture worked and the “slide to upvote/downvote”, didn’t.
There have been many times where I was trying to go back and ended up downvoting a comment instead because somehow my thumb didn’t actually reach the end of the screen.
Yeah I totally agree!
Oh! Handy. Thanks for the info.
Coming from Apollo, I’d love this as well.
It’s uncomfortable when I’m holding the phone in my right hand to have to swipe from the edge of the screen compared to swipe from anywhere.
I use my iPhone with a case and therefore I can’t start far enough from the edge. I always trigger the upvote.
I personally don’t like the swipe to upvote. I didn’t come from Apollo, so idk if that was a feature from that app, but I find it annoying, when I don’t swipe up and down perfectly, and accidently upvote or reply I stead of scrolling. Long story short, I second this request!
