Yeah…i don’t even know what to think about this whole story. Was he being genuine? Did he do something to piss off the US government? Is he really a spy sent by the CIA in the lamest attempt of all time to infiltrate the DPRK? Why did the DPRK not offer him asylum? Did they send him back to US occupied Korea or is he allowed to go to China or Russia? I feel like this may be one of those bizarre episodes that will forever remain a bit of a mystery.
Sucks for him. But then again i have no idea what he did to land himself in trouble. If he behaved badly while in South Korea then maybe it would have been a bad look for the DPRK to not send him back.
When I looked into it a while back, he got into a bar fight (the other guy didn’t want to press charges), and beat up a cop car. Nothing that terrible IMO.
Ah fuck, my man Travis getting rejected by everyone. 😭

Yeah, it’s really disappointing. I wish the DPRK would release a statement on why asylum was not granted at least.
I have to assume they thought he would be too much of a liability.
Yeah, I would assume that. But an official statement would still be nice.
Looks like they sent him back to the US.
