Many self-proclaimed “islam critics” are totally okay with -if not openly promoting- any other brand of religious funamentalism like mormonism or evangelism. Because their “critics” are actually rooted in racism.
Islam is a set of ideas - not a race.
But it’s treated as it by the “islam critics” i’m talking about. Because the only significant difference between islam and the other abrahamic religions is the skin color of most of their practitioners.
And that’s why criticism of Islam is verboten in many leftist spaces, because it’s viewed as racism, which is also fucking stupid.
Yet these people hardly ever take issue with Hinduism or Buddhism despite most of their practitioners also being dark-skinned. One of the most vocal critics of Islam, Sam Harris, spent 10 years in India practicing meditation surrounded by brown-skinned people but still gets regularly labeled racist for criticising Islam.
These people have better reasons for their criticism than the color of people’s skin.
