Upon watching after a couple of decades, this is such a weird, indulgent video.

The sell of Michael Jackson as a the baddest gangster doesn’t work here, or in Bad either.

The scenes of him supposedly attracting swooning female dancers feel weird, and the kids in the video, well I wonder what happened to them?

The climax of him spraying the shadowy police with a Thompson machine gun works about as well as Michael Dukakis in a tank

The loooooong pause in the music for an orgy of moaning with the dancers is annoying and destroys the atmosphere.

The song is an earworm though, and I always thought the hook lyrics were “Eddie are you okay?”
