The current way to add an emoji reaction on Android is the following:
- Click the three dots’ menu button
- Choose
React... - Choose
Other... - Tap the text field saying “Enter an emoji”
- Press the smiley button next to the space key.
- Find the desired emoji
- Tap on the emoji
This is quite a chore, actually!
Firstly, I’d request for at least the top5 emojis used by me to show right after I’ve tapped React.... Preferably 10.
Secondly, if the “Enter an emoji” text field was active immediately, it would reduce one click from the process even if I’m using some emoji I use less often.

The current Blorp emoji picker is pretty bad. I was thinking about just making it a scrollable grid of emojis you can pick from and maybe search. Basically the same as the emoji keyboard on your phone.
The emoji keyboard on my phone is doing a mighty good job for picking emojis. Evoking its strength takes quite a lot of convincing, though. The ability to copypaste any emoji into the field is cool, though! I mean, you can write whole (simple) words with the Chinese script! :D
