Went in this morning on my off day and my supervisor told me that we won’t be doing our Easter knockdowns until “at least the end of the week”, to her that means Thursday.

One data point isn’t a trend but might be worth bearing in mind.

my manager isn’t discounting stuff till tomorrow but the guy who owns the shop is convinced that it shouldn’t be discounted at all, for some reason he thinks people are going to spend £8 on 100g of chocolate after easter

Yeah it’s a bit silly really. It’s Monday, we’ve got a fully stocked aisle and who knows how many rollcomps in the back (I’ll find out on Wednesday) and we’re still charging full whack. The tradition of cheap eggs on Monday seems to be long gone.

Update: discounts still haven’t started today.

Fully stocked aisle plus two full rollcomps in the back.

Update 2: Discounts started on Saturday. They’re not great. £3 for what I consider to be a normal-sized egg. Still like £1 per 100g of chocolate. Not a good deal.
