The article seems to skirt around it but the victim was a passenger of said driver and got in the car in “the early hours of the morning” with the driver. Did they not know the driver had been drinking? Not blaming the victim but getting in a car with a pissed driver is hardly safer than driving pissed yourself. Either that or the article fails to point out that they didn’t know the driver was intoxicated.
