I watched a video yesterday of a WWE YouTuber who said that Wrestling (as a product that has scripted stories like movies) isn’t meant to satisfy what people want all the time

He argued that storytelling is supposed to be a reflection of reality in the sense that things are going to happen that we want, and things are going to happen that we don’t want.

And if every plot point goes the way we wanted or expected, then stories will be unrealistic and boring as there are no surprises to shake things up and maintain our interest

Unpredictability and uncertainty are inevitable. Sometimes controversy keeps people engaged

Now although I agree with him, I feel like there are always things that are required in order satisfy the consumer as advertised. Especially if you market or promote the movie in a certain way.

You can’t just throw the consumer outta left field all the time. It’ll only cause frustration and confusion to the point where they won’t buy from you anymore

But yeah that’s just my 2 cent on the whole thing, what are your thoughts?
