“A lot of people feel betrayed by our closest ally,” said one marketer in Canada, where President Donald Trump has imposed 25% tariffs.

Just made a Lemmy account today, trying to rid myself of reddit. Changed toothpaste already. Will change shampoo, ketchup, laptop os to linux, phone os hopefully to grapheneos… just some examples. Never ever again to mcd, bk, kfc… They suck so bad anyway. As does pizza hut and subway

It was about time to cancel my Amazon Prime. Let’s see what I can do about my Microsoft subscription. What else is there to do? I don’t really buy much from America, because most of what they have to offer, we do ourselves here in Europe.

I just noticed a local brand of Peanuts for my country used American peanuts, so I left it on the shelf.
Alcohol, Wine and soap are other products that can also be American.
We too use very few American made products, and we don’t use American internet services. But it pays to take a look now and then, every little bit counts when so many are doing it.

I’ve been avoiding almonds because I think it’s crazy how much water is used for them, but now I’ve been avoiding them because of their origin. Pistachios as well.

Yes those are tough to get from good sources, but they are made in Europe too in for instance Greece and Spain, probably also Turkey and Italy. We just need it to be better shown where they are from.
Here in EU, Almonds are often from California, and Pistachio from Iran or Israel, I don’t want that either.
We need to source them from Europe. Almonds and Pistachios are too delicious to not have.
