I’ve seen a lot of reviews in here that recommend the 3800 - no qualms there it seems like a great option but it seems like the price differential is quite large right now. In my circumstance the hardware in either will be overkill (will be driving older PSB Alphas and a powered DIY tower sub in a 3.1 config - potentially expanding to 5.1 eventually). Primary video consideration is driving 4K/120 source from my PS5 which both are capable of and the PS5 is the only source that will require full HDMI 2.1 compatibility.

Current refurb options from Accessories4Less I’m considering…

-Yammy A4A for $750

-Denon 2800h for $650

-Denon 3700h for $1000

-Denon 3800h for $1200

-Denon 4700h for $1200

-Onkyo RZ50 for $1000

All else being equal I’d rather not wait for a sale if a refurb is fine, but if there’s a significant advantage in doing so I will. I’d prefer to spend $1k or less but am flexible if a killer feature is within close reach. Any suggestions given my pretty basic requirements? Am I overspending on the AVR when I could put more dollars towards new speakers?
