I’m hoping someone can advise please. I’ve a cheapish set up and I’ve a small budget to make improvements but I’m not sure where I will get most bang per buck. My current set up is:

Sony STR-DH790 (5.1.2 / 7.2 channel receiver) 4 x Monitor MR1 bookshelf speakers 1 x Tannoy Mercury center speaker 2 x REL R-505 Subwoofers

I’m not sure if I should go for ceiling mounted Atmos as I think this would mean I could only use one sub, or if I should stick to 7.2 and forget Atmos. I’m also not sure if I should upgrade my Monitor speakers with better bookshelfs or go for floor standing speakers which might have better range. Should I replace my speaker cable with expensive stuff, will that make a noticeable difference? Anything else I should consider?

I’m not an audiophile, I’m happy to spend a few hundred on second hand stuff but don’t want to spend a fortune, so really just want suggestions as to what would give me the best improvements without breaking the bank. Thanks!
