The Great Escape:

Well what is the great escape. The Great Escape is my name for my Train travels and I did my first Interrail run last year under the same name. This year I’m looking to explore eastern europe as much as I can and I’m looking to travel the whole month of July.

My initiary is as follows:

Luleå- Krakow 30 June - 1 July

Krakow-Kosice 3 July

Kosice - Budapest 6 July

Budapest - Bucharest 9 July

Bucharest - Sofia 12 July

Sofia - Skopje 15 July

Skopje - Podgorica 18 July

Podgorica - Sarajevo 21 July

Sarajevo - Belgrade 24 July

Belgrade - Rijeka 26 July

Rijeka - Ljubljana 29 July

Ljubljana - Hamburg 1 August

Hamburg - Luleå 3 August

Hostels is going to be a nobrainer when traveling on a budget and I’ve done some rough calculations of housing, Food, Travel, Pass, Busses, Extra for Souverniers and extra for mishaps. Totaling out at around 2500€ total for this trip. You won’t go hungry and certainly not thirsty.

Anyone whos done a similar route for eastern Europe. Anyone got tips for travelling in these regions as well as good to know things? I would love to hear your balkan/eastern Europe stories!
