    We must not let this become a thing.

    There is is no place for this in modern society. There was never any place for this in society.

    Stone age practices should have been left in the stone age.

      That has always been a thing. It was just not systematic, pairs are not always made of cousins in a family. Catholism have historically forbid mariage btw I-don’t-remember-how-very-far of degree but you would get a dispense by any local cury with the reason “but I do want to marry him/her”.
