UNRWA, the main U.N. agency aiding Palestinians, said its drivers were forced to unload supplies at gunpoint, in what it called one of the worst such incidents of the war.

The agency said that the incident highlighted the “challenges of bringing aid into southern and central Gaza” despite months of attempts by aid agencies to help it arrive safely, and despite the urgency of the need. Earlier this month, a U.N.-backed panel said that all of Gaza faced a risk of famine between now and April, with the north at particular risk.

In much of Gaza, there are no police officers to prevent chaos as organized crime groups fill the vacuum. Their affiliations — whether to Gazan clans or armed groups like Hamas — are unclear.

    I wonder why starving victims of an ongoing genocide who gets a fraction of the aid they need to feed everyone is panicking…

    I can’t imagine the complete lack of empathy required to write a headline where you call those poor souls “looters”.

    Like, I get why the favor the wealthy, the largest shareholder of the Times is the world’s second richest person.

    But I don’t know why they have such a vested interest in using loaded language to always make people view Palestinians negatively and ignore Israel has caused the vast majority of international incidents in the Middle East since England created it.
