Hi. I’m not entirely sure if this would be a mimic encounter so I’m here to also see people’s thoughts.

This happened a while ago when I was fourteen years old but I have been thinking about it lately. My parents had just split up and we had moved into a new house, so it was just me, my mum and my brother.

My mum worked shifts so I would often walk home from school and be home alone for a few hours, my brother is older than me so he would have been working. One night I got home and decided to play on the trampoline because it was Summer. I was bouncing when I noticed my mum come into the kitchen with her workbag on, so naturally I thought she was home early.

I was excited to see her so I ran down the garden path, but for whatever reason I stopped at the very end of the path just before the patio and looked right at her through the glass back door into the kitchen. I looked and I just remember being scared and thinking ‘that’s not my mum’.

I ran back up the garden path and sat on the trampoline and waited until someone came home. I waited so long I actually fell asleep in the sun until my mum actually DID come home and woke me up.

Since then I have had other experiences such as hearing my mum call my name, or being at my bedroom door but I open it and she’s downstairs or out the house. She has also said that sometimes she will hear me sobbing in my room when I haven’t been crying. My mum even asks me if I have been crying.

What are people’s takes on this situation? I have never experienced anything like this again but would something supernatural explain what I did experience.

Thanks
