When someone is serving a larger cause or organization… such as The Church in the Middle Ages of Europe - how can you tell apart that they are a believer in the society-wide confidence game or individually that way?

    It’s part of why ‘whataboutism’ works so well, the history of humanity with mythological storytelling into adulthood and old age of an individual… shows people do like to believe in systems without factual evidence. Even when they become aware of alternate society mythology storytelling from other places on Earth, they still live within their own home society mythology. Even when they know that competing systems of faith are based on not having facts and evidence…
