It’s finally time. After years of deliberation, #Minetest is finally ready to adopt a new identity and prove it has moved beyond its original purpose. We can finally move past the “mining” and the “testing” and focus on making this platform the best it can be.

Will the new name ship with the upcoming 5.10 release, or will it be delayed to one of the future versions?
We’re aiming to rename by the end of this year. So we are aiming for 5.10

I already use it for purposes beyond the standard mine and forge.
Ex. Creating experimental biomes and textures. I use it mainly to prototype 2D games for Gobot and RPG Maker.

@Minetest@fosstodon.org congratulations on the name change. It’s been awhile since I’ve played but it really is so easy to mod I’ve modded it. I made the TNT into super powerful atomic bomb TNT that almost crashes the server it’s really fun
