Worst: All Quiet on the Western Front (2022). To preface, the movie itself was not that bad. As a movie. As a book to film adaptation however, it is simply terrible. Apart from the characters having the same names, there is almost no resemblance to the book whatsoever. The fact that this is also one of my favorite books makes me extra salty about it.

Best: The Great Gatsby (2013). There is nothing specific about the film by itself that makes me like it so much. I am sure everyone imagines what is going on whenever they are reading a book. What I saw in this film was more or less everything that I pictured in my mind when reading the book. It was like a daydream becoming reality. I was extremely impressed with this film. It is in my opinion, one of the greatest book to film adaptations ever made.
