My group (usually in person) just got Foundry VTT for us to play while some people are out of town. I’ve always heard that Foundry has really good Pathfinder 2e support and it looks really good from the player side. However, I’m the GM. What are some good resources for getting our game up and running? Music, tokens, maps, tips and tricks? I’m brand new to the platform so starting from scratch.

I am a PF2E GM with Foundry and it’s REALLY good for PF2E.

    What I use

    1. https://paizo.com/community/blog/v5748dyo6si7j?Pathfinder-Bestiary-Token-Pack-for-Foundry-VTT
This token pack cost around $60 USD. But in my eyes completely worth it. The art is amazing.

    2. https://goblinfight.club/ Encounter balancing

    3. Dungeon Alchemist Available on steam and my favorite map making software. I’ve used it to make maps very quickly.

    Modules

    -Universal VTT Importer.

    -Tokenizer (fast token image updating)

-Dungeon Draw (on the fly dungeons and maps)

    -Dice so Nice

    -Dice Tray

-Group Initiative (select all tokens and have them ready for initiative)

    -Monk’s Combat Marker

    -Your Turn!

-Pathfinder UI V3 (just looks cool)

-PF2E Drag Ruler Intergration (Will need the Drag Ruler Module as well)

-PF2E animations (if you like to see the animations)

-Pathmuncher (for quick initial builds from Pathbuilder)

    -PF2E workbench

    -Quick Insert

For music there are various free modules you can use with Foundry. Just search music.

If you are running modules from Paizo, then there are two importers to look at:

    • Deidril’s Pathfinder 2 PDF Import
    • PDF to Foundry Importer

They cover different modules, so which one you use depends on what module you’re running. Both require that you have bought the official PDFs (they look for the watermarks).

I also really like Health Estimate - it makes it so that the players see “badly injured” instead of HP remaining or a health bar.

One word of advice though - go easy on the modules you install. Learn the basics first, then be picky about what you add. An individual module may be fine, but its code may collide with another module and make the whole system unstable in ways that are hard to detect.

When that happens, use the module “Find the culprit” to help narrow things down.
