So there were a number of cryptographic systems used in the show, but the Book of Bill and thisisnotawebsitedotcom.com has introduced some new ones. The main one I’ve seen discussed is the color bands believed to be the Euclydian language. And I think there’s a way to find a codex for them on the site, but I can’t remember the command right now. [edit: here’s a decoder]

However, I haven’t seen anyone anywhere talking about these series of boxes. They appear in multiple places, not just the example I’ve attached here. I think it’s yet another crypto system!

At first I noticed some were squarish and wide, while others were skinny. So my first assumption was maybe it’s Morse Code. But then I noticed some of the skinny ones were thinner than the others. And some of the boxes were wider than the others. So I now believe there are 4 characters, 2 skinny and 2 wide. But I’m stumped on what to do with them.

Any ideas?

A long shot, but maybe binary ? no box = 0 box = 1, and box are wider because of multiple 0s or 1s ?

Hmm, that’s a good idea. Although I guess we’d need to make the assumption it always starts with and ends with a 1, as there would be no way to know how many trailing spaces (0) there are 🤔

Yes, and especially for the bottom left one, kinda hard, Also, I thought Gravity Falls ARG/Cyphers were all solved, this one is brand new or just no one talked about it ? I might have to rewatch some Gravity Falls videos talking about all the ciphers

It has been very much on people’s minds, but no one’s cracked it yet. There’s also the possibility they are meaningless, some folks keep saying Alex has stated the boxes were a design choice he wasn’t involved in. Haven’t dug into sources, though (I don’t use X), and misdirection is a thing.

You should know the boxes also show up in Journal 3.
