A monument celebrating Soviet-Polish unity in defeating Nazi Germany has been torn down in the town of Nowogard in northwestern Poland. This is one of many Soviet-era statues to be torn down in the country ever since the war in Ukraine began, many of them commemorating the victory against fascism during WWII.

The right-wing “Institute of National Remembrance” in Poland, who oversaw the destruction of the Nowogard monument yesterday, says that in 2022 there were over 60 Soviet monuments throughout the country. Since then, almost 40 of them have been destroyed.

I love how they mentioned in a Deprogram, Poland during the 80s was viewed as suffering under a totalitarian socialist regime, yearning for a Democratic progressive republic, but now Poland just complains about Green energy and tolerance towards minorities to the EU🤦‍♂️
