Hello lovely people! I am in need of a financial advice. Yes, I know Reddit is not an accounting office, but I would like to have some general idea before taking it up to an accountant. So here is my problem: I am moving to Belgium soon. I’m a lose contractor so I need to move my company along with me. I know that the taxes in Belgium are huuuge. Currently I pay around 25% (social contribution included) which compared to 45% well, is massive. My first question is: are there any benefits/exemptions for sole contractors?

I read that a person living in Belgium can actually have their company set in the Netherlands. If that’s true, I would qualify for the 30% tax exemption rule. Perhaps any of you have been in a similar situation and can tell me: is it even worth the hassle? Moving to a new country is stressful enough but I can already see all kinds of complications that having the company in a different country would cause (I.e. the health insurance). And perhaps the Dutch taxes look better on paper but I would end up paying a lot of extras that I don’t know of? I will appreciate any help and answers!
