Hello everyone! Lately I was looking into buying a cheap and shitty vehicle (under $2k). Not buying right now, but interested to buy in the future. And I what to know the real picture about used car markets like Rustavi car market. From what I understood there are mass and individual sellers, and they vary in quality. Also I looked up listings and photos, and there are 3 major car categories: undamaged 2005+ import auction cars, damaged 2010+ import auction cars and local cars already customs-cleared cars in various stages of being fucked up xD

Is it a good idea to go there shopping for a cheap and simple (like old opel’s, nissan’s and others) cars, or it’s better to buy from individual sellers on myauto.ge and skip the big markets at all? I’m looking to fix the car by myself except for major malfunctions, but I won’t buy a non-running car. I can check basic things (oil, filters, tires, brakes, dashboard lights, exhaust, crash damage) but not a real mechanic by any means.

Thanks a lot for any insight on this topic because there’s very scarce and inconsistent info on the interned about it, cheers!

edit:

P.S. Also, what car brands/models are best with parts availability in Georgia? I see A TON of exotic cars for sale (like jdm or lesser known US or UK manufacturers) but I’m concerned if there are any parts for cheap for these cars. I might be also wrong about nissans and opels, maybe they are not so simple to maintain as I thought, used them as an example.
