    I think there’s some debate here, but the more science-focused of us (scientific materialists) would think of Marxism as being technologically determinist.

    The productive forces, energy sources, and mode of production form the base upon which all our societal superstructures are built, and determine / limit all our choices.

    Technological advancements more than anything cause these societal structures to change, and our entire lives rearrange to fit them.
