I know this type of question is asked a lot and I am sorry in advance.

Short background: I’m 22m about to be 23 finishing a BFA degree in December (Im in the Chico, CA area) but want to get into the electrical trade. No debt luckily lol.

I have some questions about these three options for apprenticeships:

  1. Joining/Applying to Local IBEW a. What is the step after apply and getting accepted? or what happens after getting accepted in?
  2. Applying to WEC apprenticeship program a. Is this the electrician trainee program on their website? b. What happens after Applying or getting accepted?
  3. Enrolling in 1 or 2 WEC classes online, getting my ET Card, thening calling up electrical contractors to see if there is a apprenticeship position available a. Do the 1 or 2 classes count towards hours? b. I saw somewhere that you need 720 hours of electrician instruction on top of the 8,000 hours is this misinformation or true for California?

Thanks for your time
