I’ve been researching on Google and forums but can’t get a definitive answer… we’re renting a car at Nimes Airport 9/10 and dropping off at Nice Airport on 9/16. Couple of questions:

  1. I know international drivers permit isn’t required in France but do they really enforce the translated US drivers license? If so, is French embassy the best place to get this service?
  2. If I have my own personal car insurance that covers 3rd party liability would they accept this? Or do I still have to purchase it from the rental agency?
  3. If I’ve damage coverage from my credit card, would they accept this? I checked and France is a covered country.
  4. Lastly, I plan to learn basic French but would Nimes airport staff speak some English as well?

Thank you so much in advance!!
