I work with fire alarm systems for a living, so it’s fascinating to see a building get so bad it is shut down entirely by the fire brigade.

No BWOF since 2017 is just incredible though.

    That building sounds horrendous.

    How did you get into the fire alarm systems industry? Sounds intriguing.

      I originally started training to be an electrician, before being offered an apprenticeship as an alarm technician. It’s a unit standard based qualification, so a lot of it crosses over.

        That’s so cool! Electricity is interesting anyway but even better, you get to know your work is saving lives.

            That’s awesome, having a fun job adds years to your life.

            Not sure why it didnt occur to me that electrician training could lead to stuff like that.
