    Set your Goals

    Break them Down

    Create Time Blocks

    Plan your Day

    Get Started

    Stay Focused

    Make it Feel Good

    Recharge your Energy

    Reflect

This seems reasonable if bordering on “too general to be useful,” imo. Having read a fair few productivity books myself I don’t disagree with any of the recommendations above, but like with anything ymmv.

I will say that in particular I’m a proponent of the “reflection” step. Taking some time every so often (I like every two weeks) to look back on what you did since the last reflection and evaluate whether you’re on track to meet your goal and if there’s any way you could do better is hugely beneficial.

I would probably also add that there is huge benefit to being honest with yourself when attempting to meet a goal. If you are behind your intended schedule, be honest with yourself about it and recalibrate. You’re only hurting yourself if you try to ignore shortcomings or make excuses for yourself. It takes a lot of personal accountability and diligence to operate this way, but it works well for me.
