Went into my local hifi shop with a $4k budget for my 150sq ft bedroom. Walked out with with:

  • Tannoy Autograph Mini speakers
  • NuPrime STA-9X amplifier
  • REL T/5x subwoofer

I got myself a Bluesound Node X as a source. (I needed something that could stream Nugs HiFi)

Set it up poorly, the dude from the shop came out and showed me how I could rearrange my room to get proper speaker and sub placement. Rearranged my whole bedroom last night.

WOW. I’m completely blown away. I didn’t expect those little speakers to be able to fill my room and have such an expansive soundstage. They are crystal clear and super detailed. Very fun speakers. They definitely need a sub to fill in the low end, and the T/5x blends in like magic.

My subwoofer makes smooth musical sounds and not just boomy noises??? Wow.

I’m feel like I’m listening to my music for the first time. Totally immersive. I’m very impressed.

I also got to listen to the new Tannoy Cheviot, which is probably my favorite speaker I’ve ever heard. The Cheviot or the Eaton is gonna be my end game. I absolutely love the way Tannoy’s sound.
