Like seriously, cars are such an irrational system it is no wonder it never really works in practice. Every city that goes the car-centric route ends up as a inhabitable shithole where people cannot drive anyway and have to spend hours stuck in traffic or looking for parking.
I guess an argument could made for a responsible motorcycles, at least people could be carefull if they find themselves in similar danger to a pedestrian.
I’m not familiar with the /r/fuckcars and !fuckcars@lemmygrad.ml communities. That being said:
Is it considered radical here to say that I think cars should be banned in city centers?
Because cars should be banned in city centers.
I made this community after missing r/fuckcars, but it should not be radical here to say that. They just cause air, noise, and visual pollution while killing many. The sub wasn’t explicitly anti capitalist, but this one will be
Fuck cars for real. I can’t even drive one anyway with my albinism and vision impairment. I don’t care for electric cars either. Public transportation needs to be everywhere.
Exactly. Real accessibility comes from anyone being able to use it. Large chunks of people can’t drive for this or that reason. Even larger chunks shouldn’t drive because they’re terrible at it, but most won’t admit it.
Electric cars are not here to save the planet, they’re here to save the car industry and those fuckers can go rot in hell
