On Wednesday evening, the Israeli army said one of its commanders was killed in northern Gaza, bringing the number of soldiers, killed since October 7, 2023, to 561, including 224 since the beginning of the ground offensive on October 27, bringing the total number of Israeli, including soldiers, killed since October 7 to 1.139.

I had not seen this type of breakdown of the numbers. 578 is a lot smaller than 1400 that has been initially reported. Extensive killings of hostages and others during the ‘shoot everything’ of Oct 7th by IOF will decrease this number even more with further investigation.
