In another sign of shifting forces in the social media universe, the UK's national public service broadcaster, the BBC, is dipping a toe into the fediverse by setting up its own Mastodon instance.
What I meant was that twitter had an algorithm to promote post / users that it felt would get you more engaged. That’s what the blue checkmark has become now. A way of paying to get your posts promoted.
The lack of that algorithm means you need to go look for content rather than having it spoon fed to you.
It has plenty of sorting algorithms. It doesn’t have suggestion algorithms and that’s a good thing.
Suggestion algorithms make the social media world go ‘round.
What do you mean? Can you sort your mastodon feed in any way other than the equivalent of “new” in lemmy?
