Without knowing the protocol, I’d guess there’s something in the data packet from indieweb that lemmy is sensitive to.
First guess would be the recipients/inbox lost or whatever it’s called. Maybe the order is off or there’s something extraneous in there that vanilla masto doesn’t have.
Increasingly suspicious that it’s something on the indieweb instance tripping lemmy up and that interop is no worse than it used to be (which would probably be no one’s but the protocol’s fault TBH).
