Blame American society for consistently endorsing car makers to engineer over 1.5 ton curb-weight SUVs with nearly three times the power-to-weight ratio as a Japanese kei car yet the same cargo space. I dream of the day when the US’s roads aren’t plagued with pick-up trucks heavier than a lightweight RV. If the Japanese general populace can remain productive using small cars utilizing a 0.026 horsepower-to-weight ratio, there’s no need for Americans to be daily-driving an F-150 to the grocery store or work. It’s just wanton excess that causes these avoidable accidents.

These days if someone drives a big SUV I won’t be their friend. I lose any interest in getting to know them, I don’t want self-centered friends.
