Imagine thinking people need to be subscribed for your content to show up on their feed. Or that they need to be subscribed to be able to downvote said unwanted content. Ego-trip much?
While you’re right that people don’t need to be subscribed to see this content, the poster is likely used to Reddit where it was incredibly unlikely for a specific users community to make it to a general feed. So it likely just didn’t occur to them. It wouldn’t make sense for ego to have anything to do with it. And there’s no need to be an asshole about it.

imagine using lemmy or any other fediverse service & thinking it’s reddit lol
If people see content from a community they don’t want to, they should block the community, not downvote the post.
Maybe we should propose that as a feature request: prompt users to block a community if they downvote multiple posts from it.
I actually don’t understand how this platform works lol
