Needed to find an alternative community to r/Philippines which is swamped with libs, sexpats, fake commies aka NatDem trots, and CIA trolls. Really needed a place to crash in since losing my Twitter acc.

If you can tolerate the occassional liberalism that happens in Lemmy, you might find communities
or threadsfocused on Southeast Asians. I found 2 Philippines communities in Lemmy, though they’re probably not very active. (They have very little subscribers anyway).Otherwise, you might just have to create a Philippines/Southeast Asian community here in Lemmygrad and try to get it running.
Or just submit articles related to Philippines/Southeast Asia[n politics] in the active communities (GenZedong for instance) and hope for the best.
I keep mentioning Southeast Asians because I can’t tell if there are any more Filipinos in Lemmygrad, but there are some Southeast Asians around here at the very least.
There’s also Leftypol’s /SEA/ thread, but (from what I’ve seen) it’s mostly Malaysians, Indonesians and Singaporeans posting there.
Because Leftypol is an imageboard (4chan-like site) that came from 8chan, expect occassional reactionary elements. Stuff like homophobic language being used a lot (though I haven’t seen any true hate for gay people yet, it’s trans people that they target the most for some reason).
The atmosphere on Leftypol and Lemmygrad are very different from one another. Lemmygrad feels more peaceful and grounded than the occassional chaos that is Leftypol.
