In the power imbalance, I find the patriarchy as a way of life very appealing. Of course, this is neither the norm nor the current direction that society needs (equality and tolerance at all levels). That’s why it should be said again at this point that it’s not about stopping it (even if, nobody could and that’s a good thing), but to live it out in a small circle of the common power imbalance in a way that can be enjoyed by both parties. When it comes to power imbalances, most people think of sessions and accessories that are used, for example to implement bondage or SM. With a permanently established power imbalance, I don’t just appreciate the respective session. I also appreciate the everyday life in which she takes her trained place. As a man, I can really enjoy it when it comes to proactive situations because she wants to make me happy. Or even just creatively ensuring that the game quickly becomes a side issue because she has already earned the attention. Whatever it is, stay dirty! source
I love the way you phrased this. I agree, in general I am staunchly egalitarian, but when two (or more) consenting adults can come to an agreement to enact a rule of patriarchy or matriarchy in their home or small community where everyone is happy or even thrilled about it, that makes for excellent and healthy TPE. Put simply, there are people who desire and even have an internal need that they’ve identified independently to be underneath someone else, and they often get left out of participating in that in a healthy and safe way.
