Hi - I started using cannabis in my mid-thirties, about 6 years ago. I found the flower to be pretty beneficial to me in every way, but mostly in terms of psychological improvements and mindset (basically making me slightly less “type A”, slowing me down enough to stop and smell the roses). I’m also a musician and teacher and found it to help me look at my life in new and interesting ways that spilled over to my sober state…just an overall good compound for me to be ingesting. I typically used one twice or twice a week w my wife.

We stopped using , and decided to start a family. Baby is due in a few months so I haven’t used cannabis in while (obv neither has she).

At some point, I’d def like to start using again, maybe just a few times a month I guess.

My question is how have you dads balanced using while still parenting? Do you have a routine that works? Is it irresponsible of me to be “fucked up” on random nights (like, what if something goes wrong in the middle of the night and I’d need to be sober)?

Or am I just overthinking things? I’d hate to give up what I think is an amazing hobby and outlet for me.

Tldr: did y’all drop cannabis use upon becoming parents or did you find something that works for you?
