Recently, something happened on Lemmy after another update I think and now I can suddenly still see deleted posts even if they were well, deleted, they just have a trash bin next to them and still appear and can be seen.
Same thing for comments, for example lib comments with mass downvotes and whole sections of replies can still be seen even if they are deleted, it just says ‘‘deleted or deleted by creator’’. Before when a comment or post was deleted, it completley disappeared, but now it can still be seen on the feed.
Can we please do something about this?
Have you seen deleted posts in communities of which you’re not a mod?
Yes
can you link an example post?
https://hexbear.net/post/1390110
I only realised it was deleted when sync told me unable to cast vote
Hexbear uses a fork of Lemmy, so it’s unrelated to the latest Lemmy update, assuming the version listed on hexbear.net (0.18.3) is based on the corresponding Lemmy version

It was a bug that the replies to deleted comments disappeared before, the newest update just fixed that
Isn’t it supposed to disappear? What about the posts, will it be fixed?
No, deleted comments and their replies aren’t supposed to disappear, they already didn’t disappear in other apps, it was just the web UI where it was bugged IIRC
Don’t know about posts though, and I’m not a Lemmy dev so I don’t know what’s going to get fixed
Yeah, the posts should really be fixed since they’re not even deleted after deletion, trash bin is just added next to them and they are still visible.
But you can’t see the text, right?
I can
Oh dear. I only see ‘deleted by creator’, etc.
Edit: I can see ‘deleted’ posts…
deleted by creator
