1 full week now into having my OLED LD. Previously sold my LCD.
Assuming one buys a Steam Deck because of daily responsibilities and life alone. Then consider the total time you would spend on the deck. After a long day of work. The few hours left after kids asleep. The few hours after partners content.
You deserve the superior OLED screen considering this is likely a full time substitute of a PS5/PC
Gaming experience and speed is far superior and noticeable than LCD
Heat and fan noise is reduced compared to LCD
Battery is superior and so important considering we primarily bought this for the purpose of mobility.
We’re all going to die one day.
You deserve the OLED! Don’t buy LCD as first timer. LCD remnants, seriously consider it!
I see a lot of people who ordered oled having issues with dead pixels and no delivery, I think honestly the years taken off their life with those problems might outreach the benefits
Reminds me of
If the OG deck’s fan noise is a 10/10 comparatively what would the OLED be
I’m selling my Switch OLED (which I literally haven’t touched in over a year because of the Steam Deck) to potentially fund the upgrade from LCD. But also considering using that money for something else. Sucks to sell both handhelds to fund the upgrade…
thanks just got an LCD. GFY.
STOP DOING THIS TO ME
I deserve a Ferrari. It doesn’t mean I can afford it though…

My first Steamdeck is still perfectly functional I’m not gonna spend a couple hundred dollars on a new one yet.
Keep cool guys, it’s just a video game system, not a life Phylosophi
This is absolutely not a full-time substitute of a console or a PC for myself. I have a much more powerful rig to play on while I’m at home. The dopamine kick you get by buying a new Deck is temporary.
I just bought the premium regular model when it was on sale. I was happy with it when I got it. Valve releasing an upgraded one doesn’t change that.
As first timer, just bought used LCD already upgraded for 1tb. After thinking alot about who gonna choose, I thought that if steam deck isn’t for me, at least, with used one I can sell for exactly same price. With a new one I will lose at least 100-150€ on resell.
Luckily its not my main machine so i can wait till it cant run most of the games i want to play
Nice try Gabe.
Nah. I’m good, my OG SD works just fine. We don’t always need the new shiny stuff.
