As impressive as the Steam Deck is, it can only do so much as a small system when compared to a high-end computer. Not to mention, it can be complicated (or at least painstaking) to bring over many things such as mods for games. That being said, I am interested in the idea of playing my games on my TV using the SD’s dock. Thankfully, the TV in question is located in the same room as my computer, so the distance is short. Now, how is it like to stream from the PC to the SD? Is there latency in input? Can I still use a bluetooth controller like the PS4’s?
In my experience it works really well if you have your computer connected to your network via ethernet. I haven’t experienced any latency when using sunshine/moonlight. Yes you can use an external Bluetooth controller.
I’ve streamed so many games from my PC (living room) to my SD (kitchen) so many times and worked flawlessly with the original streaming tool, I use it my Bluetooth 8bitdo pro controller too.
Try using the Steam Deck Remote Play feature first to see if you get good streaming quality and if that doesn’t work well, you can go with moonlight + sunshine combo.
I just use the native streaming feature, works pretty great for any game with good controller support
