I think the starter motor has gone in my car,it won’t switch on,considering calling a breakdown company but will they be able to fix it as as far as I can tell online I have to order a part specific to my car,should I do this first?

What do you mean at the roadside? Like can you replace it on the shoulder of the road?
What car is it? You might be able to pick one up at autozone or similar for cheap if it’s a common car.
Like if I called the AA would the guy have the part to fix it or would I have to order it anyway?
