I took my car into a chain mechanic because the check engine light came on. They changed out the coils for $1300. The next day, the check engine light came back on. Took it back in, said they were doing a valve adjustment but ended up replacing the fuel injectors for $1200. Check engine light came back on the next day. Currently sitting in the shop and I’m sitting here frustrated that they’re NOT FIXING THE PROBLEM AFTER IVE SPENT $2500. My car is a 2005 Honda pilot with 205k miles on it. Probably spending more on repairs than it’s worth. Anyway, has anyone had success filing disputes with their credit card companies for charging you for things that DIDNT WORK?!? I know not to file anything until the car is in my possession.

It might be difficult to get your money back. Was it Amex? They might be more willing to help but it really depends on the situation. It sounds like you want to do a charge back due to misdiagnoses with repairs that didn’t ultimately work. This could qualify under not receiving goods and services but technically those specific services you paid for were delivered albeit the wrong solution to your vehicle’s problem.

I think you need to go to the mechanic and tell them that it still isn’t fixed and that as you’ve already spent $2500 they need to provide a solution.

What is the car doing? THe engine light is on but what is happening with the car? Is it a misfire?
