I have searched and searched (please don’t make fun of my possible lack of Google skill), but I have not found a cogent explainer of WHY the Apple Watch has such a comparatively poor battery life.

It’s not the display. Garmins have OLED always-on displays that last for at least a week. It’s not the HR or other tracking. Other watches do that also.

It doesn’t seem to be the form factor. The AW is not impossibly thin or small or anything.

Can anyone either attempt to explain it or send me to a page that does? Thanks. I’m earnestly curious.

I see a lot saying it can do this and this and this, okay great but what if you don’t use it for this this and this? Battery life is still shit, just because you don’t use a feature doesn’t make battery life any better. I mean I don’t use mine any more than I would a Garmin, mainly for fitness tracking, I don’t make calls or play music or send messages etc just mainly as a fitness tracker, batter still crap
