2015 cx5 was in a fender bender with external damage paid through insurance. It was taken to Calliber Collision. They ran a pre and post repair diagnostic on it in the process.

Next day, 1 hour into a drive, my car died on the highway. It had been 9,500 from my previous oil change (I know, stupid me). Towed to a nearby mechanic who said he pulled the dip stick and there was no oil in it.

My question, wouldn’t the diagnostic catch this? There were no lights on… yes it was slightly overdue for an oil change (rec. 7,500 miles) but I don’t understand how a diagnostic wouldn’t indicate anything.
