There’s a 2002 996 C4S Coupe available from Porsche Centre. It comes with quite a price premium over other non Porsche dealerships, but I imagine it’s a safer bet as it’s received the Porsche stamp of approval, FSH etc. your thoughts?

That’s your imagination. A reputable independent dealer are just as good if not often better. When I bought mine, also preowned, I intentionally avoided the Porsche stealership, with zero regrets. But hey, if you’re willing to pay a premium, go for it.

CPO = inspection + warranty. If it’s not CPO, it’s just like any other Porsche, get a PPI.

Depends on the history of the car honestly. If it’s a situation where CarFax shows it has been maintained by the selling dealer for its entire life - or even the past few years - that may have some value. Otherwise there’s no reason to pay more money just to pay more money - you WANT something for the premium, even if it is just pedigree and peace of mind.

Yes. Any issues it goes right back to them and if they don’t give you satisfaction then escalate to Porsche themselves.
