Just curious what other people do. I always save and close my games before putting the deck in sleep mode. Not sure why exactly I’m just afraid something will go wrong.
Does anyone leave games open in sleep mode all the time? If so have you ever had any issues?
Depends on the game really but usually not. Some act really funky when powering back on but it’s usually just audio bugs.
Man, audio bugs. Don’t get me started.
Most of the ones I’ve encountered seem to be getting fixed though.
Decky plugin to pause games, suspends the game process when you suspend the system, cured all my audio issues.
Would you care to share the name with us, fellow reddit explorers?
I’ll have to take a look at Decky as I’ve not explored that yet.
It’s completely worth installing. Some great plugins there. Quick Bluetooth, controller, decky settings, suspend, and plugins like proton badges, share deck settings, music plugins, and other fun ones
Bluetooth plugin alone is worth it. Adds a Bluetooth menu to the quick settings. Allows me to connect to headphones without having to dig into the settings.
I guess another good one is adding “time to beat” under the games page. Tells you about how long it takes to clear a game. Never know if a game is just 10 hours, 40 hours, or 150 hours. Good to know what I’m getting into.
Same! Haven’t had a single problem with games resuming from sleep since this one plugin.
Lol mine does this with persona. I call them deck farts
Yeah, the audio sync gets whacked in a simple game like Dead Cells. BUT on the other hand I left Alan Wake running in sleep mode a few times and it was fine.
Dead Cells gets messed up for me, thats the only game i have issues with
I’ve had a few mess up. Death Stranding when the LCD first came out and cult of the lamb recently gave me issues when powering back up
I also have an annoying audio issue where the game won’t switch audio sources mid game. If I open the game without headphones plugged in and then plug some in, the audio will still be on the speakers and vice versa. It happened with dicey dungeons as well.
Yea Disney dreamlight valley wants nothing to do with suspending and restarting.
I get the bug where the deck loading screen fails to proceed past itself if I have the deck sleep while a game is loading.
I’ve only been getting audio bugs since the latest update.
My audio is often crackly when I turn on my Steam Deck. It does seem to go normal when I load up Netflix, but it returns to crackly when I go back to the Steam interface.
Project Zomboid does this weird black flashing on what looks like the upper half and bottom right half of the screen after powering on from sleep.
